Doskiwis Brewing was founded in 2016 by Judit, from Llofriu in Baix Empordà, and Michael, a New Zealander (known as “the Kiwi.”) Their mission was to create the kind of beers they enjoyed drinking — bold, flavorful, and hard to find locally in Empordà at the time. Back then, Spain’s craft beer scene was still developing, trailing behind countries with more established beer cultures.
